Discover the fourme from yesterday to today, and life in the mountain pastures, and taste our cheeses. In summer, take part in our workshops and activities: making cheese, butter, hamburger snack with Fourme d'Ambert AOP, fictitious cow to be milked.
Surely you know the Fourme d'Ambert, this cylinder with blue cheese? A staple of the traditional and family cheese platter, the "fourme" has been produced in Livradois-Forez for centuries.
The Maison de la Fourme d'Ambert and Auvergne cheeses is located in the town center of Ambert in a XNUMXth century house. It shows how Fourme d'Ambert is made, a collection of utensils and dairy equipment, and items related to life in the mountain pastures (jasserie, milking cow, rosaries, etc.). The maturing cellar presents the five AOP cheeses from Auvergne.
