Verre d'Auzelles - Atelier de vitrail

Glass has always fascinated men. They adorned their finest buildings with it. Transparency and color made it possible to animate the churches and to bring in the light so absent from the Romanesque buildings

But stained glass is also a secular art. The ancestral method of mounting with lead is known to everyone, but as early as 1870, Louis Comfort Tiffany became interested in working with glass and created a new way of setting glass. Easier to implement, this method makes it possible to create small objects such as jewelry. It is this method that is used in the workshop located in the heart of the village of Auzelles. By pushing the door of the workshop, you will discover all the stages of the creation of an object from the drawing of the template to the pewter crimping through the diamond cut and the grinding, how a glass plate becomes a lamp, mirror decoration, jewelry, decorative object, window... Finally, the tea room welcomes visitors, hikers, cyclists, riders wishing to take a convivial and unpretentious break around the flavors of our territory opposite the Saint Blaise church. Just a nice moment to take a break. Young and old are welcome.
Marie-Paule Dauphin also offers a computer graphics activity (creation of flyers, posters, business cards, etc.)
