Festival Auzel'La Culture

The 27 July 2024

Méli-Mélo Oratoire Freely Inspired by Wanderings in the Repertoire of the Eponym is a clever acronym for MOLIERE. And it is precisely in tricks that this show runs through his life and his work.

Based on the life and work of Molière.
Designed by: Clément Beauvoir, Lucas Hénaff and Etienne Luneau - Directed by: Elsa Robinne
Music: Joseph Robinne - Lights: Emilie Nguyen - Sets and costumes: Anne Lacroix
With: Clément Beauvoir, Lucas Hénaff, Etienne Luneau and Joseph Robinne
We see how Jean-Baptiste Poquelin refuses his destiny as an upholsterer to become an actor, how he convinces little as a tragedian, how he goes on tour on the roads of France, how he returns to Paris to find success there, how this success is also a scandal; there we meet his father, the great tragedian Montfleury, his first protector the Prince de Conti (as well as his horse), Louis fellow soldiers, journalists, courtiers, doctors…
And to retrace in a very subjective (albeit educated) way the journey of Jean-Baptiste, these figures draw on the words of Molière's characters; and the stories of a man's life take on colorful reflections from the brilliance of the scenes in his plays.
Three actors and a musician throw themselves with joy, passion, mischief, madness and strength into the life and work of the one who was without a doubt the most joyful, the most fiery, the most clever, the craziest and the strongest of all the people on stage.
