Children of the 80s, our imagination was nourished with the grain of the various animated series and films of the time, some featuring the mythical heroes of literature, such as Ulysses 31, Around the World in 80 Days or even The three Musketeers.
The latter remain, for our generation, engraved as a band of joyful, good-natured and valiant dogs, facing the most diverse dangers. However, the original work was duly respected, thus allowing the discovery, by as many people as possible, of a whole section of French History.
In a nod to this television reference (but only in a nod, rest assured, no dog in this story), La Douce in turn takes Dumas's novel to offer an iconoclastic, eclectic and festive.

A show at 100 miles an hour
D'Artagnan, Athos, Portos and Aramis, Milady De Winter, Cardinal Richelieu and all these mythical figures, anchored in popular imagery, are successively embodied by four actors – singers. Each of them embraces the characters, despite the genre or the obvious distribution, carried simply by a joyful and almost childish desire to defend THEIR vision of history.

And just as D'Artagnan's abortive quarrels with his future comrades-in-arms seal their unshakeable unity, the different points of view of the performers end up coming together in songs. The music becomes the basis of a harmonious convergence between Dumas, La Douce and the spectators.
Far from historical reenactment, our aesthetic choices also refer to 80s pop culture. Offering different reading levels, this interactive musical is intended to be deeply intergenerational and joyful.
