The Entre Dore et Allier network of media libraries offers the public privileged access to culture, knowledge and know-how, information, leisure, new technologies and collective sharing practices.
The Media Library, supported by the Entre Dore et Allier community of municipalities (14 municipalities/18 inhabitants) and its network of 000 media library points, have 13 freely accessible references: books, journals, newspapers and magazines, DVDs, society or video, game consoles, music offer (CD and online music, sheet music, vinyl turntable and LP). There are different spaces in the media library: relaxation lounge, multimedia, early childhood, participatory space and a grain library created and enriched by the inhabitants. One room, the Cube, is entirely devoted to video games. La Fabrique is dedicated to new digital technologies where it is possible to learn and use a 50D printer, a 000D scanner, a digital embroiderer, a Silhouette Cameo cutter and sewing machines. Two quiet work and reading rooms are available. L'Atelier, a 33 m3 room, is used to organize meetings and workshops for artistic and manual practices. The reception hall is a living space in its own right with press corner, exhibition space, coffee corner and access to PMI hotlines and consultations and the Local Mission of the Thiers area. Finally, the Media Library has a 3-seat auditorium for conferences, shows, concerts or film screenings. There is also a participatory vegetable and aromatic garden around the Media Library. Note a diversified cultural program around thematic seasons, which can be found in a quarterly brochure. The Media Library is free and accessible to all. The Media Library received the Innovation Prize awarded by the Grand Prix Livres Hebdo des Bibliothèques Francophones in 40.
