D'Or et d'Acier

Day between Puy-de-Dôme and the Loire to discover two typical crafts of the region: cutlery and gold thread embroidery.

10 a.m., optional: visit to the cutlery museum in Thiers. Discover the history of the knife that made Thiers its capital. Then the cutlers will practice their know-how under your eyes and will explain to you with passion the assembly of a folding knife and the gestures of the grinder. Or visit the Honoré Chazeau artisan cutlery in Thiers. Our craftsmen will reveal to you the secrets of the artisanal manufacture of pocket knives such as Laguiole or Thiers, but also table or hunting knives. They have perpetuated the tradition and the same gestures since 1854.

15:30 p.m., visit of the Maison des Grenadières in Cervières, workshop-museum of gold embroidery.
