A 2h30 workshop dedicated to tasting, discussion and discovery not only of world famous Auvergne cheeses, but also of “no name” artisanal and micro-local market products.
Taste different types of milk – goat, cow and sheep, raw versus pasteurized milk, fresh young cheese alongside matured and aged. Discover the different recipes, cheese makers, the myths and legends behind each cheese. Explore new pairings with wines, beers, ciders or soft drinks and discover interesting and unusual accompaniments. Learn what to look for when buying cheese, tips on how best to store, cut and present your cheese platter for personal enjoyment or parties. And if, like us, you fall in love with local produce, we'd love to help you 'meet the maker' and share our favorite markets and 'secret' artisan producers.
