Its abbey, founded in 1057 by Saint Robert, the founder of La Chaise-Dieu, welcomed Benedictine nuns until the Revolution. There remains essentially the Romanesque cloister, unique in Auvergne, and the refectory, decorated with a large fresco of Byzantine influence from the XNUMXth century.e s, and sheltering a Romanesque Christ of moving beauty. The church also contains a remarkable set of mural paintings from the Italian School (XIVe s): scenes from the Passion, unique and very curious allegory of the Black Death.
A small Musée des Arts et Traditions (museum of popular arts and traditions) preserves the memory of rural life in the past.
