Around three tales in music, two storytellers-musicians tell us about the trees. The scenes parade throughout the story in their wooden castle accompanying the captivating dialogue with musical and poetic refrains: for young and old!
“Who has never encountered a majestic, crooked or intimidating tree? Mine is blue! He entrusted me with secrets that I would like to share with you…”
“Stories are like butterflies in the pages of a guidebook. Frozen in words of ink and paper, they are there only to soon fly away again, alive, from mouth to ear. Tales are made to be told, […] told outside, under the tree, fir, birch and cherry. » tells us Louis Espinassous, in the preface to Tales and legends of the tree.
Lulled from early childhood by the tradition of oral tales, The Æquinoxes bear witness to the emotional and philosophical impact of these for young and old alike. The spectator is invited into a heady round, encouraged to participate and use his memory, he immerses himself in it. This is how tales find their way back to popular transmission.
The Secrets of My Tree takes place around a large wooden castle where the images parade and take the musicians through various marvelous landscapes, all made of blue.
“Bruises, you say? Indeed ! A blue tale, you see, is a fabulous story, a fairy tale or a lie. Our tales are of these. And to illustrate them, the cyanotype reinforces the porous border between reality and imagination. »
