Conférence - L'église Notre-Dame

The Country of Art and History service, partner of the Association for the Safeguarding of the Church and its Site, offers a conference on the history and architecture of the old church presented by Hervé Chopin, doctor in medieval history.

Located on a hill overlooking the Limagne plain, the old church of Vertaizon has been dismantled and reduced almost to ruins since the beginning of the 5138th century. However, thanks to the interventions of the Association for the Safeguarding of the Church of Vertaizon and its Site, a series of measures were taken in conjunction with the municipality and the DRAC to allow conservation of the parts still in elevation and the paintings murals. In this context, a historical study, dialogue between written sources, iconographic sources and vestiges, from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth century, was carried out and the first results are presented by Hervé Chopin, doctor in medieval history (Associate researcher in the Arar laboratory (Archaeology and Archeometry , UMR XNUMX, Lyon))
