Les Truites du Moulin du Clos

Les Truites du Moulin du Clos is a fish farm located in Augerolles in the Puy-de-Dôme, 10 km from Courpière and 30 minutes south of Thiers. The La Faye river feeds the 27 salmonid ponds which are farmed in the best possible conditions.

The fish farm is located in Augerolles in the Puy de Dôme, 10 km from Courpiere and 45 minutes east of Clermont Ferrand.

The fish raised there are salmonids: Rainbow trout, Brown trout and Alis chars. We offer whole, filleted or processed fish for sale (smoked fillets, rillettes and mousses) which allows us to work with fishing companies, works councils, restaurateurs, producer stores as well as individuals (on site). or in the markets).

The river “la Faye” feeds the 27 basins, its source is located at more than 1000m altitude.

Combined with the absence of industries and intensive agriculture in the watershed, the river has remarkable water quality (quality 1A) for trout farming.

We take care to raise our fish in the best possible conditions by controlling their diet, the density in the tanks, the stress, as well as their appearance. All this makes it possible to offer the consumer products of excellent quality.

The food is made up of flour and fish oils from sea fishing, flour and vegetable oil, proteins from food processing (offcuts and non-marketable products, etc.)

The growth is slow, between the moment the eggs are hatched and the moment the fish are ready to eat (portion sizes/250gr), two years of rearing in natural tanks have passed. Whereas in conventional so-called “intensive” fish farming, the breeding time for the same size is 10/15 months.
