This day of discovery begins with the guided tour of La Chaise-Dieu.

10 a.m.: Welcome by a tour guide to visit the imposing St Robert abbey church with its choir adorned with 144 stalls surrounding the tomb of Pope Clement VI, its 15th century mural fresco "la danse macabre" and its magnificent baroque organ case then you will discover the fascinating history of its former Benedictine abbey through the new museum tour presenting the Gothic cloister, the Chapel of Our Lady of the College housing the 14 fully restored Flemish tapestries from the 16th century, a real National Treasure and the famous echo room from the 17th century with astonishing acoustics...

12 p.m.: Local meal in a Casadéen restaurant (1/4 of wine and coffee included)

In the afternoon, you will board the Picasso train and follow the small tourist line that overlooks the Viallard viaduct above the Senouire before descending through the gorges to reach the Dore valley and the town of Ambert. ...

13:45 p.m.: Meet at La Chaise-Dieu station and board the train.

16 p.m.: Visit to the Maison de la Fourme d'Ambert to discover an AOC cheese, an element of heritage, culture and the local economy... Explanations on its traditional and contemporary production with a visit to the maturing cellar
