Guided visit to the archaeological site of Millières, in Thiers with archaeologist Damien Martinez
Excavations carried out last summer revealed an archaeological site
in Millières, occupied between the end of the Gallo-Roman era and until the 7th century AD. Through the objects discovered during the surveys and the remains still visible on site,
archaeologist Damien Martinez will reveal to you the first elements of understanding about the inhabitants of this fortress probably linked to the Merovingian dynasty of Clovis and the construction of the Frankish kingdom.
The site is accessible after a 15-minute walk along a sometimes steep path. Be well equipped with suitable shoes, a hat and a water bottle.
