Exposition temporaire "Athlètes d’Olympie, athlètes d’aujourd’hui"

From July 01, 2024

Meeting place: Departmental Museum of Ceramics

Immerse yourself in the incredible history of the Olympic Games!

From Egypt to Greece, via the Roman world, travel through time, from Antiquity to the present day, and discover those who played the sports of yesterday and today.

Based on the research and discoveries of historians and archaeologists, the exhibition highlights the sporting practice and the birth of the games in Olympia in Greece, up to its modern organization initiated by Pierre de Coubertin.

Did you know that the first representations of sports date back more than 5 years? Do you know the date of the first Olympic Games? Can you name the sports practiced in ancient competitions?

Come discover this immersive exhibition and become knowledgeable on the subject; models, reconstructions, videos, objects and games will allow you to learn while having fun!

Activities around the exhibition will take place throughout the summer:
don't miss the life-size reconstructions by Acta athletes on July 6 and 7, during the "Archéofolies".

Outside: dogs accepted on a leash only. Inside the museum: dogs not accepted, except for those of visually impaired people.
